About us
Our Past
Le Hangar 23 emerged from the foundation of Triumph Classic Motorcycles, a leading British motorbike restoration company established by John Calicchio in 2013. Triumph Classic Motorcycles became known for setting a high standard of craftsmanship, breathing new life into countless iconic machines. John Calicchio’s deep connection to the world of British motorcycles dates back to when these classics were first produced. From his early days running John’s Racing Cycles to becoming the last appointed U.S. Triumph distributor, John’s passion for Triumph spanned decades.
When John decided to retire, a team of John’s mechanics acquired the remaining assets of Triumph Classic Motorcycles. Our mission remains clear: to keep vintage British motorcycles on the road, cherished by enthusiasts for generations to come.
Our Present
Le Hangar 23 is a dedicated team of seasoned mechanics and lifelong motorcycle enthusiasts, committed to preserving the passion for vintage British motorcycles. With decades of combined experience, our team spans multiple generations—our mechanics range in age from their 20s to their 70s. Together, we blend traditional craftsmanship with modern precision to restore vintage Triumph motorcycles to their original glory.
The name Le Hangar 23 honors Elliott’s grandfather’s farm shop in France, where he first learned to work on anything with wheels. Today, that legacy lives on in our Southern California workshop, where Tink, Harry, Jack, and Elliott share a deep love for these motorcycles. After a week spent perfecting these timeless machines, we often take our own vintage British bikes out for a ride in the Southern Californian desert, keeping the spirit of adventure alive.
Restoration
At Le Hangar 23, we are proud to build upon the roadmap created by Triumph Classic Motorcycles, with an unwavering dedication to the art of British motorcycle restoration. Our specialization centers on the most sought-after models—Triumph twins from 1968 to 1970. These three years represent the pinnacle of British motorcycle engineering, and by focusing on this period, we are able to deliver superior results that celebrate the craftsmanship of the past while incorporating the advancements of the present.
With over a decade of experience restoring vintage British motorcycles, our mission remains clear: to build reliable, beautifully restored vintage motorcycles that honor their heritage while ensuring modern reliability.
Each motorcycle we touch is a reflection of our deep respect for the past and a commitment to future generations of riders.
Sales
Our mission has always been to share the thrill of vintage British motorcycles with as many enthusiasts as possible. Through our expertise in rebuilding and restoring these iconic machines, we've cultivated a network of enthusiasts and collectors who are eager to buy and sell vintage British bikes.
As some clients seek quicker options than a full ground-up restoration, we've expanded into brokering high-end British motorcycle sales. If you're looking to sell a vintage British motorcycle, we might be able to connect you with a buyer.
We approach every sale—whether from our stock or on consignment—with a focus on serving both buyers and sellers. If you have a vintage British motorcycle from the 1970s or earlier that you're considering selling, please get in touch.
Even if we can’t directly facilitate the sale, we may know someone who’s interested.
Service
In addition to our restoration and sales services, Le Hangar 23 also offers expert maintenance and repair for vintage British motorcycles. Whether your bike needs a routine tune-up, a more complex repair, or a full mechanical overhaul, our skilled technicians are here to help.
